Frequently asked about Auto Subtitle Generator
Accuracy?
Word-level accuracy is ~95-98% on clear English, ~92-95% on accented English, ~85-92% on heavy background music. Speaker labels aren't included in subtitle output (use Transcribe Audio for those).
File size limit?
25 MB — that's the OpenAI Whisper API hard cap, not ours. For longer recordings, split first with a video trimmer or compress to a lower bitrate.
Burned-in vs sidecar?
We export SRT/WebVTT (sidecar). For burned-in captions you'll need to re-encode the video with the subtitle file using a tool like HandBrake (coming as a Wave 2 burn-in feature).
