Cookie Policy
Effective 15 May 2026 · plain-English summary above each clause; the binding terms are the clauses themselves.
Apexkit uses a small, deliberate set of cookies — all essential or strictly functional. We don't run advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or session replay tools.
01What's a cookie
A cookie is a small text file that sites store in your browser to remember things between page loads — e.g. that you're signed in, or which colour theme you prefer. Some cookies are set by the site itself (“first-party”); others by services the site embeds (“third-party”).
02Essential cookies (always on)
These keep the site working. You can't turn them off without breaking core functionality, but they store no marketing or profiling data.
- __clerk_* — Clerk auth session. Set when you sign in; expires when you sign out or after 7 days of inactivity. First-party.
- __stripe_*— Stripe Checkout / Billing Portal session (set only when you're on Stripe's hosted pages). Third-party, necessary for payments.
- theme — your light / dark / system theme preference. Set by next-themes; expires in 1 year. First-party.
03Functional cookies
Optional, used to remember preferences. Currently:
- cycle — last-used billing cycle (monthly / yearly) on the pricing page, so the page opens with your preference next visit.
You can disable functional cookies in your browser without affecting auth or payments.
04Analytics — Plausible (cookieless)
We use Plausible Analyticsto count page views and rough geography. Plausible doesn't set any cookies and uses an anonymous hash that resets daily — no profile of your activity is built. Plausible is GDPR-, CCPA-, and PECR-compliant by design.
05What we don't do
- No Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or similar.
- No session-replay tools (Hotjar, FullStory, LogRocket).
- No advertising / retargeting cookies.
- No fingerprinting techniques to track you across third-party sites or after logout.
06How to control cookies
Most browsers let you block or clear cookies via Settings → Privacy. Be aware that blocking essential cookies (Clerk, Stripe) will break sign-in and payments — that's why we don't bother showing a cookie banner for them.
If you turn off functional cookies, the site still works; the preference feature just stops remembering your last choice.
