001How much does Apexkit cost?
Five paid tiers: Basic £7.99/mo, Pro £17.99/mo, Plus £29.99/mo, Power £55.99/mo, Agency £99/mo. Plus a Free tier with 1 use of every tool, no card.
002What's the yearly discount?
About 17% off vs monthly. Yearly is roughly equivalent to paying for 10 months and getting 12.
003Which tier should I pick?
Most users land on Pro (£17.99/mo) — it covers unlimited Hero tools + 20 expensive packs/month + 10k API calls. Basic if you only need PDF + simple AI; Plus / Power if you're using AI tools daily; Agency if you're reselling.
004What does the Free tier include?
One lifetime use of every tool after sign-up. No card on file, no countdown timer, no expiry on the use credits. Once you use a tool a second time, you'll see the upgrade prompt.
005What's the difference between Basic and Pro?
Basic (£7.99/mo) is for casual users — unlimited trivial tools, 200 medium-AI uses/month, no expensive packs. Pro (£17.99/mo) adds 20 expensive packs (headshots, photo restore, slide deck), 10k API calls, priority queue.
006What's the difference between Pro and Plus?
Pro is for individuals; Plus (£29.99/mo) is for people who use AI tools daily — 50 expensive packs/month (vs 20), 50k API calls (vs 10k), custom domains for short links, larger file caps.
007When does the Power tier make sense?
Power (£55.99/mo) is for small agencies or freelancers using 2-3 client accounts. 150 expensive packs/month, 200k API calls, 3 seats, white-label PDF outputs.
008What's included in Agency?
Agency (£99/mo) is for resellers and small agencies: 500 expensive packs/month, 1M API calls, 10 seats, full white-label (your domain, your branding), and reseller programme access.
009Is VAT included in the displayed price?
Prices on /pricing are ex-VAT. Stripe Tax adds VAT at checkout based on your billing country — UK 20%, EU rates per country, or 0% reverse charge for B2B with a VAT number.
010Can I pay with PayPal?
Stripe handles checkout; PayPal isn't currently enabled but credit / debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Stripe Link (passwordless) are. We may add SEPA + iDEAL based on demand.
011Do you accept cryptocurrency?
No — Stripe Checkout only, which means cards / Apple Pay / Google Pay / Link. Crypto isn't on the roadmap.
012Can I use a business card?
Yes — any card that works in Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, business cards) works at checkout. Entering a VAT number at checkout makes the invoice business-friendly.
013What currencies do you accept?
GBP at launch. USD and EUR pricing coming soon; Stripe handles conversion in the meantime if your card isn't GBP.
014How does Stripe Tax work?
At checkout, Stripe Tax detects your country from your card's billing address and applies the correct VAT/GST rate automatically. UK consumers pay 20% VAT; UK B2B with a VAT number pays 0% (reverse charge); EU consumers pay their local rate; non-EU/UK pays 0%.
015Do upgrades prorate?
Yes — Stripe prorates the difference based on remaining time in your current cycle. You're billed for the upgraded amount immediately.
016Do downgrades prorate?
Downgrades take effect at the end of your current cycle, not immediately. You keep the higher tier's benefits until then; no refund is issued for the unused portion.
017How do I cancel?
/app/billing → 'Manage subscription' → Cancel. Your tier stays active until the period end you've already paid for. We don't dark-pattern the cancel flow with retention dialogs.
018What's the refund policy?
60-day money-back on AppSumo LTD purchases (AppSumo standard). For monthly / yearly subs we honour refunds within 14 days of the most recent charge if you've used less than 25% of your tier's monthly allocation.
019What happens when I hit a usage cap?
The tool that triggered the cap shows an in-app banner with the next-tier upgrade option. Other tools keep working until they hit their own meter cap. Counters reset on the 1st of each month.
020What counts as a 'trivial' tool?
Browser-side tools with near-zero server cost: PDF Compress, Merge, Split, Image Compress, JSON Formatter, QR Code, Regex Tester. Generous monthly caps even on Basic.
021What counts as a 'medium' AI tool?
Text-only AI calls: Resume Tailor, Cover Letter, Email Writer, LinkedIn Optimizer, Translate, Summarise. Server cost ~$0.001-0.005 per call. Pro+ unlimited; Basic 200/month.
022What counts as 'expensive AI packs'?
Heavier model calls: AI Headshot, Photo Restoration, Slide Deck Generator, Background Remover at scale. Server cost ~$0.20-1.00 per call. Pro 20/month, Plus 50, Power 150, Agency 500.
023How are API calls counted?
Each call to /api/tools/* (or our public API endpoints when they ship) decrements the API meter. Pro 10k/month, Plus 50k, Power 200k, Agency 1M.
024What is the Stripe portal?
Stripe's hosted billing portal — accessed from /app/billing — where you can update payment method, change plan, view invoice history, and download invoices. Officially branded by Stripe, secured by them.
025Can I add my VAT number after signing up?
Yes — Stripe portal → Update billing details. New invoices from that point apply reverse charge; the old invoice can't be retroactively VAT-corrected (Stripe limitation).
026Do you send receipts?
Yes — on every successful payment we email a receipt with the plan, amount, invoice number, and Stripe-hosted invoice link.
027What if my payment fails?
Stripe retries up to 3 times over 7 days; we email you on each attempt with a one-click 'Update card' link. After 3 failures the sub cancels and you drop to Free.
028How many retries on a failed payment?
Three. Standard Stripe schedule: day 1, day 3, day 5. Email notification on each retry. Auto-cancel on day 7 if all three fail.
029How do I update my card?
/app/billing → 'Manage billing' → opens Stripe Portal → Payment methods → Update. New card is used on the next renewal or any pending retry.
030What if I pay yearly and want to cancel mid-year?
You'll keep tier benefits for the full year you paid for. No automatic prorated refund — but email hello@apexkit.pro within 30 days of purchase and we'll handle a reasonable refund.
031Can I have multiple subscriptions on one card?
Each Apexkit account has one subscription. If you want multiple seats / accounts on one billing source, use Power (3 seats) or Agency (10 seats) instead of separate subs.
032When do you charge me?
Once a month (monthly cycle) or once a year (yearly cycle), on the same calendar day you originally subscribed. Stripe handles the timing.
033Can I stack multiple AppSumo / LTD codes?
Yes — 1 code = Pro, 2 codes = Plus, 3 codes = Power, 4 codes = Agency. Stack up to 4 codes on one account. Single tier-up at a time.
034Can I switch from monthly to yearly?
Yes — Stripe Portal → Update subscription → Change cycle. Switching mid-cycle prorates the unused monthly value as a credit against the yearly cost.
035How does team billing work?
Power and Agency tiers come with seats included (3 and 10 respectively). All seats are billed on the team-owner's card; there's one consolidated invoice.
036How do I add / remove team members?
Team workspaces ship in V2 month 7-12. For now, Power and Agency 'seats' = additional Supabase Auth users with the same paid tier — managed by the team owner via Settings → Team (coming Q3 2026).
037Can I pause billing while I'm on holiday?
Not yet — Stripe Pause ships in our V2 timeline. For now, downgrade to Free temporarily; we keep your usage history so re-upgrading is one click.
038Is there a trial period for paid plans?
Sort of — the Free tier IS the trial. One use of every tool, no time limit. We're considering a 14-day full-tier trial; email hello@apexkit.pro if you'd want this.
039If I hit my cap halfway through the month, what are my options?
Three: 1) Upgrade tier (instant, prorated); 2) Wait until the 1st when caps reset; 3) Buy a one-off expensive-pack top-up (V2 feature, not live yet). The cap-reached banner shows your tier's exact reset date.
040Do unused monthly credits roll over?
No — caps reset to zero each calendar month. Use them or lose them. This is intentional: it keeps margin predictable on our side, which keeps prices low.
041Where can I see my current usage?
/app dashboard → 'This month's usage' card. Shows usage vs cap for each of the four meters (trivial, medium, expensive packs, API).
042What counts as one 'expensive pack'?
One AI Headshot generation (a single image), one Photo Restoration, or one Slide Deck export. Each = 1 pack toward your monthly count.
043If a tool gives me multiple output formats, is each one billed separately?
No — one tool invocation = one usage event regardless of how many formats it produces. E.g. Subtitle Generator gives you SRT + VTT for one billing.
044Can I get a refund if the output is bad?
For Hero tools, yes — if a result is genuinely unusable, email hello@apexkit.pro with the use case and we'll credit your account. For long-tail tools, the output is 'good enough for casual use' by design; we don't refund per-call.
045Where is my card data stored?
Card data is stored by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 certified) — Apexkit never sees the card number. We only see the last 4 digits, brand, and expiry for display purposes.
046Can I claim VAT back on my subscription?
Yes — if you provide a valid VAT number at checkout, Stripe applies reverse charge (0% VAT). Your invoice notes the reverse charge so your accountant can declare it correctly.
047My card was rejected at checkout — what now?
Most common cause is 3D-Secure verification timing out. Retry; check with your bank if their fraud-prevention is blocking 'foreign' SaaS charges. Apexkit is a UK merchant.
048Will my monthly price ever increase?
Existing subscribers are grandfathered if we raise list prices — your monthly amount stays the same until you change tier. New signups always see current pricing.
049When do invoices arrive?
Stripe emails the invoice immediately after each successful payment. Apexkit also sends a receipt email shortly after with the same invoice link.
050What format are invoices?
Stripe-hosted PDF — viewable in the browser, downloadable, with both supplier (Apexkit Ltd, UK) and buyer details. Accountant-friendly.
051Can I download a year of invoices in one go?
Stripe Portal → Invoice history → 'Export to CSV' gives you a year (or all-time) of invoice metadata. PDFs need one-click each — Stripe doesn't bulk-export PDFs.
052I accidentally paid for two plans — can you refund the duplicate?
Yes — email hello@apexkit.pro within 30 days. We'll cancel + refund the duplicate sub immediately.
053Can I pay by bank transfer instead of card?
Not for monthly subscriptions — Stripe Checkout is card-only. For annual prepay > £500 (e.g. multi-seat Power / Agency), we can manually invoice via BACS / SEPA. Email hello@apexkit.pro.
054Do you offer discounts or promo codes?
Annual is already ~17% off. Occasionally we run early-access / community discounts via newsletter or partner referrals. Bulk seat discounts for 10+ available on request.
055Discount for 10+ seats?
Yes — Agency tier (10 seats included) bills at £99/mo. Beyond 10 seats, contact hello@apexkit.pro for a custom enterprise quote.
056Can I prepay 2 years to save more?
Stripe doesn't natively support multi-year prepay. For exceptional cases (e.g. budget-cycle reasons), email hello@apexkit.pro — we can do a manual invoice.
057How do I change my billing address?
Stripe Portal → Update billing details. New address applies to the next invoice (existing invoices are immutable once issued).
058Can I gift an Apexkit subscription?
Not officially — but you can pay for a sub under someone else's email by signing in as them at Stripe Checkout. Gift cards as a feature ship in V2 if there's demand.
059What if my needs change mid-month?
Upgrade any time (prorates immediately). Downgrade takes effect at the next renewal. Switch monthly ↔ yearly any time (prorates the difference).
060Is my payment info secure?
Yes — Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Apexkit never stores card data; we only ever see the last 4 digits + brand + expiry for display.
061What does the charge show as on my statement?
'STRIPE *APEXKIT' or 'APEXKIT LTD' depending on your card network. The Apexkit Ltd company name is registered in the UK.
062Can I just deactivate my account without cancelling?
Cancel = stop auto-renew (account stays active until period end). Deactivate isn't a separate state. To pause: cancel, then re-subscribe whenever you're ready — we keep your usage history.
063Cancel subscription vs delete account?
Cancel = stop billing; account + history kept indefinitely so you can return. Delete = permanent removal of account, files, history; subscription auto-cancelled at period end. Both in /app/settings.
064Can I deduct Apexkit as a business expense?
Yes for most jurisdictions — it's a B2B SaaS subscription. UK: claim 100% as a deductible business expense. EU: same. US: same (Schedule C for sole proprietors). Always check with your accountant.
065How do I export invoice data for my accountant?
Stripe Portal → Invoices → Export to CSV. Or share read-only access to the Stripe portal directly. We can also generate a single year-end summary PDF on request.
067What happens if I stop using Apexkit but keep paying?
Honestly: cancel. We'd rather have you on Free than feeling bad about unused subs. Cancel any time at /app/billing — re-upgrade in one click when you need it.
068Is there a pay-as-you-go option?
Not currently — flat monthly tiers are simpler to predict. Pay-per-use API access is on the V2 roadmap for users who only need one specific tool occasionally.
069Can I buy just one tool instead of the whole bundle?
No — the bundle is the point. Even Basic at £7.99/mo is cheaper than most single-tool subscriptions. If you only need one tool occasionally, the Free tier (1 use of each) covers most one-off cases.
070Will my price go up if Apexkit raises prices later?
No — existing subscribers are grandfathered. We've explicitly committed to this in the terms. The only price changes you'd see are if you switch tiers yourself.
071Can I test the Pro tier before paying?
Email hello@apexkit.pro with your use case and we'll grant a 7-day Pro trial credit. We do this for solo founders, small agencies, and indie hackers regularly.
072Is one paragraph translated counted the same as a whole document?
Yes — one tool invocation = one medium-meter decrement, regardless of input size. Long documents may hit the per-call 12,000-character limit before the meter cap.
073Has Apexkit's pricing changed since launch?
Not yet — launched May 2026 at the current rates. The roadmap commits to grandfathering existing subscribers on any future price change.
074Where do I redeem a discount code?
Stripe Checkout has a 'Promo code' field. AppSumo LTD codes go via /app/billing → 'Redeem code' (different mechanism).
075If I pay yearly then realise I don't need it, can I pause?
Email hello@apexkit.pro within 14 days — we honour a reasonable refund if you've used less than 25% of your allocations.
076When will USD + EUR pricing arrive?
Q3 2026 — currently in development. Existing GBP subscribers stay on GBP; new sign-ups will see local currency at the customer's discretion.
